We support service users in the following locations across Hertfordshire:

WORK LOCATION:

Hemel Hempstead, Boreham Wood, Potters Bar, Bushey

We welcome applications from drivers based in and around the surrounding areas

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.00 per hour plus 30p mileage.

Shifts are available across seven days a week,

EVENING – 2:00 pm – 10:00/11:00 pm

Care Assistant: Role & Responsibilities

Our Care Professionals are the extraordinary people who do the everyday things that mean so much to our clients. Supporting them to live safer and supported lives in their own homes, you’ll follow individual care plans and assist with personal care, helping clients to bathe, dress, manage incontinence, use the toilet, and support them with their medication. You’ll also help with practical tasks like shopping, mealtimes, and housework.

Helping our clients overcome mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including assisting with aids, adaptations, and personal equipment.

Assisting with domestic tasks such as making beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning, laundry, and emptying commodes.

Supporting clients with personal care such as washing, bathing, and toileting.

Helping with eating and drinking by preparing meals, snacks, and drinks, and assisting with feeding if required.

Assisting clients with preparing and administering medication.

Job Description

What else you'll help with:

• Companionship – engaging conversations, activities, and outings to prevent loneliness.
• Personal Care – maintaining dignity and privacy during hygiene routines.
• Medication Management – collecting prescriptions, providing reminders, and assisting with medication as per care plans.
• Nutrition and Mealtimes – preparing meals considering dietary needs and assisting with feeding.
• Housekeeping – light cleaning, laundry, and tidying up.
• Mobility Assistance – supporting safe movement and use of mobility aids.
• Health Monitoring – observing and reporting changes in health to professionals and family.
• Social Inclusion – encouraging community participation and maintaining social connections.
• Emotional Support – providing reassurance and empathy.
• Documentation – maintaining accurate records of care and incidents.
• Safety and Emergency Response – ensuring safety and responding to emergencies.
• Collaboration – working with care teams, healthcare professionals, and families.

Qualifications

What you'll need (besides a cape and superpowers!)

No previous social care experience necessary. We value your compassion, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to respectful care. You should have:

• The right to work in the UK.
• A driving license and access to a vehicle, especially for rural areas.
