Job summary

Klair House in Norwich is seeking compassionate care support staff to assist residents with daily living, meals, and personal needs in a respectful, person-centred environment.

You will work as part of a team to promote wellbeing, observe changes in health, document observations, and help deliver activities that maintain independence and dignity.

Shifts include weekdays with pay of £14 per hour and sleep-ins offered at £184.

Qualifications

  • Support residents with meals, nutrition, and hydration as needed.
  • Observe and report changes in health or wellbeing to the care team.

Job description

To assist in the care of residents by providing and maintaining a high quality of life within a supportive environment that recognises and respects each resident’s individual rights, dignity and personal needs.

To take an active role in residents’ daily lives by participating in activities that promote meaningful occupation, social engagement and overall wellbeing.

To contribute to the cleanliness and smooth running of the Home, including preparing meals and packed lunches for residents when required.
Shifts and Pay:

Weekdays - £14 per hour
Sleep ins - £184

  • Every Tuesday 9am - 3pm
  • Every other Wednesday 9am - 3pm
  • Every Thurday 3pm - 9am (this includes a 11pm - 7am sleep in)

Duties and Responsibilities:

To support the care team in the delivery of high quality care to residents by:

  1. Assisting residents with activities of daily living according to their individual needs, abilities and resources, and following their individual care plans in accordance with the Home’s philosophy of care
  2. Knowing and respecting the rights of all residents
  3. Treating each resident with dignity, respect and consideration, taking account of their individual personality and needs in both verbal and non verbal communication
  4. Participating in domestic duties necessary to promote the wellbeing, comfort and safety of residents, both independently and alongside residents where appropriate
  5. Observing residents and promptly reporting any changes in their individual needs or state of health to the person in charge, including physical, emotional, psychological or social changes
  6. Recording relevant information and observations accurately and appropriately on Care Control
  7. Supporting and encouraging physical and mental stimulation for individual residents and the wider group
  8. Carrying out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Home’s philosophy of care, policies and procedures
  9. Always putting residents first and providing services that meet clearly defined national and local standards
  10. Preparing and providing meals and packed lunches when required
  11. Contributing to the delivery of high quality care by:
  • Supporting residents and relevant professionals during clinical treatments and investigative programmes
  • Supporting and promoting residents’ rights throughout the delivery of care
  • Contributing to the effective and appropriate delivery of care
  1. Assisting residents with their individual care needs by:
  • Supporting residents to achieve physical and psychological comfort
  • Assisting residents with their nutritional intake where necessary
  • Assisting residents to maintain their personal hygiene, appearance and dignity where necessary
  • Supporting and participating in recreational activities and activities that promote independence and daily living skills
