Job summary

Helping Hands is seeking a Care Assistant to provide compassionate in-home care across Stoke-on-Trent. You’ll help clients live well, stay independent, and feel safe in their own homes.

No prior care experience is required, as full training will be provided, and you’ll work within a supportive, friendly team. Key responsibilities include companionship, personal care support, mobility assistance, medication administration, and light household tasks.

Qualifications

• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required.
• Right to work in the UK is necessary.
• A kind, adaptable, people-first mindset is essential.
• Willingness to learn; previous care experience is not required.
• Reliability, compassion and the ability to support others with dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, meaningful companionship to customers in their own homes.
• Support with personal care, including washing, bathing, dressing and toileting.
• Assist with mobility needs, helping customers stay safe and confident.
• Oversee and administer medication in line with care plans.
• Help with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and meal preparation.
• Run essential errands, from food shopping to collecting prescriptions.
• Offer calm, considerate support that helps customers feel truly cared for.
