Job summary

Rotherwood is seeking experienced Care Assistants to join our agency team across Burnley, Nelson, Colne and Accrington. The role offers flexible ad-hoc shifts, including days, nights and weekends, to support residential and nursing homes with elderly residents.

You will provide person-centred care, assist with daily living activities, and help residents maintain dignity and independence. A reliable, compassionate approach and flexibility are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 12 months+ experience in care, preferably elderly residents.
• Experience using hoists and moving equipment.
• Ability to provide personal care with dignity and compassion.
• Strong communication and professional approach.
• Reliability, flexibility and adaptability to different care settings.
• Willingness to complete pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities.

About the Role

Rotherwood Cares is currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Care Assistants to join our growing agency team, providing flexible staffing support to residential and nursing care homes across Burnley, Nelson, Colne and Accrington.

We are looking for reliable and dedicated individuals who have previous experience supporting elderly residents and are confident delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities.
• Supporting elderly residents with dignity, respect and compassion.
• Assisting with mobility, including the safe use of hoists and moving and handling equipment.
• Supporting residents with dementia and other age-related conditions.
• Promoting residents' independence, wellbeing and safety.
• Following individual care plans and maintaining accurate care records.
• Working effectively alongside permanent care home staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Adhering to safeguarding, health and safety and infection prevention procedures.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 12 months' previous experience working within a care environment, preferably supporting elderly residents.
• Previous experience using hoists and moving and handling equipment.
• Confidence in providing personal care and supporting individuals with varying care needs.
• Good communication skills and a professional, compassionate approach.
• Reliability, flexibility and the ability to adapt to different care settings.
• Willingness to complete all necessary pre-employment and compliance checks.

A driving licence is not essential for this position.
