What you'll do:

  • Provide companionship to prevent loneliness through engaging conversations, activities, and outings.
  • Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, respecting client dignity and privacy.
  • Manage medication by collecting prescriptions, providing reminders, and assisting with administration as per care plans.
  • Prepare nutritious meals considering dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, and tidying up living spaces.
  • Support mobility, including transfers, walking support, and using mobility aids.
  • Monitor health by observing and reporting changes to healthcare professionals and family.
  • Encourage social inclusion by facilitating participation in community activities and maintaining connections.
  • Offer emotional support through listening, empathy, and reassurance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care, incidents, and client condition changes.
  • Ensure safety and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Collaborate effectively with care team members, healthcare professionals, and family.
