Job description

About Us

At Hightown, we are a housing charity that builds homes and supports people. Located in Newton Longville, near Bletchley, Milton Keynes, we provide high-quality care and support to adults with learning and physical disabilities.

We are seeking dedicated new Care Assistants to join our team, individuals who embody the right values, behaviors, and attitudes to make a difference.

Who We Are Looking For

We are eager to recruit individuals who care deeply, regardless of qualifications or experience. We prioritize sharing and demonstrating our core values, which include:

  • Putting our residents and service users first
  • Treating people with respect, and promoting independence and choice
  • Developing passionate and committed teams
  • Being cost-effective without compromising standards or safety

We provide comprehensive training and support, including a qualification in health and social care if you do not already possess one.

If you share our values, we would love to have you join us.

We offer both full-time and part-time roles (22.5 hours, 30 hours, and 37.5 hours per week).

Typical shift rotas are from 0700 to 1500 or 1400 to 2200, including some weekend work.

Applicants must have a full UK driving license for this role.

About the Role

You will empower our service users to lead the lives they want by supporting their involvement in the community and maintaining relationships with friends and family. Activities may include visits to the cinema, attending church, or participating in leisure activities.

You will join a supportive, communicative team capable of engaging with residents who are mainly non-verbal or have limited verbal communication skills. The role includes providing personal care and assistance with eating and drinking. It is a challenging yet rewarding role where you can truly be the difference in someone's life.

To be considered, you must have the right to work in the UK, a valid UK driving license, and access to a car. You should also be comfortable providing personal care, including toileting and dressing.

Benefits

In return for your dedication, we offer a benefits package including:

  • Generous annual leave of 33 days per year, increasing to 35 days with service, including statutory bank holidays
  • Hourly rate of GBP12.24
  • Mileage reimbursement for car usage
  • Fully paid DBS check
  • Annual performance-based bonus
  • Monthly attendance bonus
  • Supportive management and colleagues
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives, including the Five Ways to Wellbeing
  • Ongoing professional development and training
  • Workplace pension scheme and life assurance of three times your salary
  • Employee assistance helpline

Appointment is contingent upon satisfactory right to work, DBS, reference, and medical checks.

We will review applications on an ongoing basis, so early application is encouraged.
