Job summary

Interserve Healthcare is seeking a caring, patient care professional to support a child with complex medical needs in a rural setting. You will assist with PEG feeding, oxygen support, and daily activities, while providing a safe and enjoyable environment with sensory activities and play.

Experience in complex care is desirable, and you must have a full driving license and own vehicle due to the rural location.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex care is desirable but not essential.

• Comfortable working with pets in the household.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care for a child with complex needs (PEG feeding, epilepsy, oxygen support).
• Support with daily activities, sensory play, and emotional well-being.
• Ensure safe transport to activities and appointments as required.
• Follow care plans and communicate effectively with family and supervisors.

What you'll do

We are looking for a caring, patient and experienced care professional to support a child with complex medical needs, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, dystonia and severe learning difficulties. He is PEG-fed via a Mini Button and requires oxygen support during sleep and when unwell, alongside support with his other medical needs.

We are looking for someone who can provide safe, compassionate care while making his days fun and enjoyable. He loves sensory activities, music, lights, loud noises and massage, and especially enjoys messy play – particularly when he can get his feet involved! A friendly, enthusiastic approach and a genuine passion for helping him explore, enjoy new experiences and get the most out of life are essential.

Qualifications

Experience working in complex care would be highly desirable, but not essential for this position. You would have to be okay to work with pets, due to there being a dog in the household.

You must also have access to a full driving license and your own vehicle, due to the location of the role being rural.
