The Care Assistant role provides homecare services including Health & Wellbeing activities, housekeeping, personal care, and companionship.
Care Assistants are essential in maintaining Audley's commitment to high-quality, compassionate care that complies with CQC standards, supporting re-enablement by demonstrating Understanding, Empathy, Respect, and Warmth to our customers.
What will I do?
- Visit community customers daily, following their personal care plans, which include providing personal care and supporting with daily tasks such as getting in and out of bed, washing, bathing, dressing, assisting with meals and drinks, medication administration, and continence care.
- Perform household duties like fitness support, health awareness programs, cooking, laundry, vacuuming, ironing, and other chores. Support customers attending medical appointments, collecting prescriptions, and providing hospital discharge support.
- Encourage customers to maintain independence in daily activities, including personal care and exercise.
- Liaise with family members as needed.
- Respect customers' dignity and privacy rights.
- Ensure full compliance with safeguarding policies and behaviors.
- Attend all relevant training to enhance skills and understanding.
- As the role is community-based, a driving license and access to a vehicle are preferred.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Support for new care workers through the Audley Academy's full induction and care certificate completion.
- Funding for QCF Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
- Use of a company mobile and app for scheduling and communication.
- Ability to accurately complete electronic logs and follow medication instructions.
- Good knowledge of the local area.
- High standards of personal presentation and hygiene, including uniform and grooming policies.
- Effective time management and adaptability to meet customer needs.
- Act as a role model through excellent customer, owner, and team service.
