Job Description: Care Assistant - Part Time

Location: Elm Grove Care Home, Somerford Rd, Cirencester GL7 1TX

Salary: £13.10 - £14.10 per hour depending on experience

Contract: Permanent contract- 22hrs per week, day shifts

About Elm Grove Care Home Situated on the outskirts of Cirencester, this former private house has undergone an extensive refurbishment in order to make the most of its homely qualities. The home is split into two areas, one for dementia nursing and one for dementia residential. That could be for day care, a couple of weeks of respite or a more long-term move. Residents receive warm, personalised attention from a team that focus on the person first and their condition second. A nutritious food menu is tailored to personal diets, with light snacks and drinks available throughout the day and night. A wide range of activities and entertainment are included in the home’s calendar to keep residents active and stimulated such as crafts, cooking, keep fit and live music.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care.
• Observe and manage residents’ behaviour with care and ensure to document and report any changes in accordance with the required legislation.
• Support residents’ nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.
• Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually.
• Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory & legal requirements.

What we’re looking for:

• Motivation, positivity, and great interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Desirable: Previous experience in a care home environment or a Health and Social Care qualification.
