Job summary

Excelcare's Sherrell House Care Home in Chigwell, Essex is hiring a Care Assistant to join a compassionate team. You will support residents with meals, personal care, and daily documentation, while promoting independence, dignity and respect.

This permanent on-site role offers £13.45–£13.85 per hour, 36 hours across three shifts weekly (8am-8pm or 8pm-8am), with DBS paid, free on-site parking and opportunities for funded qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in care environment is beneficial but not required; a caring and kind approach is key.
• Willingness to work across shifts and weekends.
• Ability to maintain daily record keeping and care plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mealtimes and personal care for residents.
• Complete daily records, charts and care plans accurately.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities while promoting independence, dignity and respect.

We provide the highest standards of care to older people with a range of needs including dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health issues. • Salary: £13.45- £13.85 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
• 36 hours (3 shifts per week)
• 12 hour shifts from 8am - 8pm/8pm - 8am between Monday - Sunday (You must be flexible)

About the role:

As a Care Assistant you will be assisting with mealtimes, personal care and completing current and appropriate documentation which includes daily record keeping, charts and care plans. You will be engaging in meaningful activities with the people living in our care home as well as always promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect.

What we are looking for from you:

Experience in a care environment either in a care home, as a home care worker or caring for a loved one would be ideal, however if you have a caring and kind approach and the desire to work with older people - become one of the Excelcare family.
