Job summary

Bupa in Cardiff is seeking a Care Assistant to join the Heol Don Care Home. You’ll help residents with personal care and daily living, while supporting their independence and dignity. The role is full-time, on-site, with shifts around a 12-hour pattern and a pay rate of £13.10–£14.10 per hour depending on experience.

The team emphasises brave, caring and responsible values, and provides a supportive environment with opportunities for development within a large health and wellbeing organisation.

• Excellent communication and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Desirable: previous care home experience or Health and Social Care qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with companionship to personal care.
• Observe and report changes in residents' behaviour with care and document as required by legislation.
• Support residents' nutrition and hydration according to their care plan.
• Provide physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities.
• Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care.
• Observe and manage residents' behaviour with care and ensure to document and report any changes in accordance with the required legislation.
• Support residents' nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.
• Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually.
• Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory & legal requirements.

• Motivation, positivity, and great interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Desirable: Previous experience in a care home environment or a Health and Social Care qualification.
