Job summary

Quantum Care is seeking a Care Assistant at Oakmoor Lodge Care Home in Bushey. The role offers 20–35 hours per week with a mix of weekday and weekend shifts in a luxury 72-bed home providing residential, dementia and respite care.

You will deliver compassionate, person-centred care, maintain residents' dignity and independence, and work within a supportive team. Training is provided from day one and there are clear career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Empathy and compassionate approach to care.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to undertake induction training and ongoing development.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
• Must be aged 18 years or over.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to residents, including washing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Assist residents with meals, hydration and nutritional care.
• Promote independence and daily living activities.
• Follow individual care plans and work as part of a team to deliver high-quality care.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.

We are seeking a Care Assistant to join our welcoming team at Oakmoor Lodge Care Home in Bushey. This luxury, 72 bed state‑of‑the‑art care home offers exceptional residential, dementia and respite care in elegant surroundings, featuring beautifully designed lounges and dining areas, a hair and beauty salon, spa room, cinema, café, spacious en‑suite bedrooms, and landscaped gardens, all within easy reach of Bushey’s vibrant local community

As a Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate person‑cantered care and support residents with respect and dignity to maintain independence.

What You’ll Bring

• It is not necessary to have previous experience of working in a similar care environment because, as long as you are an empathetic individual who has a positive attitude and good communication skills, our first‑class training will do the rest.
• You will be able to undertake all aspects of caring for older people with compassion and respect in order to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents.
• Our staff have access to first class induction training and ongoing learning and development opportunities including the opportunity to work towards industry recognised qualifications.
• Our Homes operate on a 24/7, 365-day basis therefore you will need to be able to work shifts (including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays).
• You must be aged 18 years or over to apply for this job.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and support, including assistance with washing, dressing, grooming and toileting, as well as assisting with meals, hydration and nutritional care.
• Assisting residents with daily activities promoting independence
• Building positive and professional relationships with residents, families and colleagues
• Follow individual personalised care plans
• Working as a part of a team to deliver high quality of person- centred care
