Job summary

McCarthy & Stone are recruiting a Care Assistant for Violet Place in Bagshot, Surrey. The role involves helping residents with daily tasks, housekeeping, and supporting activities to promote wellbeing in a Retirement Living Plus setting.

We offer competitive hourly pay (£14.12/h, plus up to £1.30 for evenings/weekends), 20 hours per week, and shifts 7:00am–10:00pm with weekend work. No sponsorship. UK-based applications only.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or supportive environments preferred.
• Passion for improving wellbeing of older people and teamwork in a busy setting.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and compassionate care.
• QCF Health and Social Care Level 2 preferred; other relevant qualifications considered.

Job description

McCarthy & Stone are recruiting a Care Assistant to join the team at our Violet Place development in Bagshot, Surrey.

Built in 2024, Violet Place is a Retirement Living Plus development that consists of 46 apartments with the over 70's in mind, providing excellent on-site facilities and set within beautiful grounds.

Hourly rate: £14.12 per hour, plus earn up to an additional £1.30 for working evening and weekend hours

Hours: 20 per week, Our hours are between 7:00am-10:00pm.

Day shifts start at either 7:00am / 8:00am and finish around 4:00pm / 5:00pm, depending on the day.

Evening shifts are typically between 6:00pm - 10:00pm.

You must be able to work every other weekend, covering both Saturday and Sunday; however, weekend shifts are usually shorter.

About the role:

As a Care Assistant you will provide the highest quality of individual care to our residents enabling them to live later life well. You will deliver housekeeping and domestic support across the general estate, including apartment cleans. Duties will be varied and include supporting and encouraging our residents to take part in a wide range of activities that support their health and wellbeing. You will help them to book appointments, arrange transport and where necessary, escort them on visits and assist with their shopping. Every day will be diverse, and you’ll have the opportunity to use your people skills to make a real difference.

About you:

• You will be a warm, friendly individual with ideally some experience of working in a care or support environment.
• You will have a passion for making a difference to the wellbeing and happiness of older people and enjoy working as part of team in a busy work setting.
• You will be driven to deliver excellent customer service.
• You will want to work in the Health and Social care sector and preferably have a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 2 qualification, although consideration will be given to a candidate with an alternative qualifications and relevant experience.
