Job summary

Firmly Care is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant in the Braintree district to provide practical and emotional support during client visits. You will assist with personal care, daily living activities, and companionship while following care plans.

You will monitor wellbeing, maintain accurate records, support clients with dementia or complex needs, and collaborate with the care team to deliver respectful, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building trust with clients and families.
• Experience in caregiving and dementia care to support diverse needs.
• Manual handling knowledge to assist mobility and safety.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing client needs in a hybrid environment.
• Basic IT skills to complete digital care notes and email communication.
• Relevant care qualification or training (NVQ/QCF or equivalent) is highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and person-centered care principles.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete background checks.

Role Description

This full-time Care Assistant role is based in Braintree district, completing client visits in the local area Day-to-day responsibilities include providing practical and emotional support, assisting with personal care, and helping clients with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, and mobility. The Care Assistant will offer companionship, monitor changes in wellbeing, and communicate concerns to the care team and family members as appropriate. The role also involves following care plans, maintaining accurate records, supporting individuals with dementia or complex needs, and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent and respectful care.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust, listen actively, and maintain clear, respectful interactions with clients, families, and colleagues.
• Caregiving experience and dementia care knowledge to support individuals with varying physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
• Manual handling skills and an understanding of safe mobility practices to assist clients while minimizing risk of injury.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing client needs in a hybrid work environment.
