Job summary

Willowbrook Care Home in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to join our specialist service for up to 75 residents.

You will support residents with dementia and complex needs, follow care plans and routines, and promote dignity, independence and wellbeing.

This full-time role covers day and night shifts (40.25 hours per week), with paid DBS, pension, uniform and onsite parking.

Qualifications

  • Care experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Calm, patient and compassionate.
  • Willingness to learn and develop in a complex care environment.

Responsibilities

Willowbrook Care Home is a specialist service in Birmingham, providing high quality care for up to 75 residents living with dementia, mental health conditions and complex needs. The home delivers clinically led, person centred care within a structured and supportive environment, promoting independence, stability and overall wellbeing.

Care Assistant Contract

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Contracted to 40.25 hours per week
  • Day shifts and night shifts available
  • Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided and onsite parking
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata)

Role Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will support individuals with a range of complex needs, including advanced dementia, mental health conditions and other long term health challenges. Your role is to provide safe, consistent and person centred care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow individual care plans and support structured routines, helping to create a calm, stable and supportive environment. You will build positive relationships with residents, understanding their needs and responding appropriately to changes in behaviour or wellbeing.

This is a hands on role that requires patience, resilience and a calm approach, supporting both the physical and emotional needs of residents while ensuring care is delivered safely and consistently at all times.

What We Are Looking For

  • Willingness to learn and develop within a complex care environment
  • Previous experience in care or mental health is beneficial but not essential
  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or willingness to obtain
