Job summary

Routes Healthcare (North) Limited is recruiting a Care Assistant – Driver with Own Vehicle to cover Barnsley and surrounding areas, visiting clients in their homes to provide person-centred care. The role combines driving with compassionate in-home support and requires flexibility in shifts.

You will travel between client visits, assist with personal care, medicines, and meals, and work solo or in pairs depending on client needs. DBS is funded, and there is a sign-on bonus after hours completed.

Qualifications

• The right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship.
• A valid UK driving licence with access to a car for work.
• Reliable, compassionate and committed to delivering excellent care.
• At least 3 months paid care experience in the UK.

Responsibilities

Care Assistant – Driver with Own Vehicle

Location: Covering the Barnsley centre, Royston, Cudworth and surrounding

Pay Rate: £15.37 per hour (including holiday pay) + 30p per mile

About the Role

This is a homecare position — you'll be travelling to clients' homes throughout the day to provide person-centred care and support.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Visiting vulnerable and palliative clients in their own homes

• Supporting clients with a variety of different care requirements
• Travelling between client visits throughout your shift

Shift Patterns & Hours

Flexibility to suit your life:

• Full-time and part-time hours available
• Runs between 7am and 10pm
• Templated hours — you'll be scheduled to a set rota, so you know your shifts in advance and can plan around your life
• Range of shifts available Monday to Sunday (weekend availability required)
• Once committed to a shift, we need you to complete the full shift reliably
