Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Radiologist with a major interest in Cardiothoracic Radiology. The post supports TLHC workload, thoracic and cardiac imaging, and CTCA reporting with opportunities for reporting CMR.

The team comprises 44 consultants and training is a key element of the role. The successful candidate will participate in on-call duties, acute general radiology, and trainee supervision, with potential flexible working options such as compressed job

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice.
• Entry on the GMC specialist register via CCT (proposed date within 6 months), CESR or European Community Rights.
• Fellowship of Royal College of Radiologists, or equivalent.
• Subspecialty experience in Cardiothoracic imaging.
• Management course or experience.
• Fellowship level training in cardiothoracic imaging.
• Experience in cardiac MRI with BSCMR, SCCT, BSCCT/BSCI or equivalent qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Subspecialty interest in cardiothoracic imaging, to participate in all aspects of thoracic and cardiac imaging, MDTs and meetings.
• General work includes acute in-patient cross sectional imaging and on-call service (1:16).
• Support by trainees; training for Portsmouth Radiology Training Scheme Specialists.
• Provide teaching for medical, radiographic and nursing staff; supervise radiographers and sonographers.
• Participation in TLHC reporting, thoracic reporting, CT guided biopsies and cardiac CTCA.
