Job summary

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physiotherapy with HCPC registration.
  • Post-registration experience in cardiothoracic and critical care physiotherapy.
  • Experience in ICU and ventilated patients.
  • Advanced respiratory physiotherapy skills.
  • Experience in difficult airway management.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert assessment, treatment and ongoing management of cardiothoracic and critically ill patients.
  • Provide specialist respiratory physiotherapy interventions for complex cases.
  • Support Level 3 critical care management, including ventilated patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.
  • Assess and manage advanced airway and complex respiratory care requirements.
  • Lead evidence-based rehabilitation programmes for critically ill patients.
  • Participate in the respiratory on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support.
