Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is offering a permanent Cardiology Pre-assessment Nurse Practitioner role within the Cardio Thoracic Nurse Case Manager team. You will conduct pre-operative assessments for cardiac surgery patients and coordinate with consultants, anaesthetists and MDTs to ensure high-quality care across the patient journey.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and UK practice status.
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing with ongoing professional development.
• Experience in history taking and physical assessment.
• Experience in surgical settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work as an independent Practitioner under supervision of Senior Nurse Practitioner or DMP.
• Undertake competency-based patient assessment to formulate management plans for pre-operative patients.
• Carry out preparatory work including consent and investigations and highlight potential complications.
• Be flexible with working patterns and rota, and complete Nurse Practitioner competencies.
