Job summary

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust seeks two Consultant Cardiologists with a strong interest in Cardiac MRI. The appointees will cover MMUH during on-call with outpatient clinics at City Hospital Birmingham and Sandwell General Hospital.

Candidates should be on GMC Specialist Register or within six months of CCT, capable of independent CMR imaging and managing on-calls in general cardiology. The role is substantive with a permanent contract, based at MMUH but requiring work across sites and

Qualifications

• Entry on GMC Specialist Register in Cardiology or within 6 months of interview.
• Full GMC licence to practice in the UK.
• Training and experience equivalent to CCT in cardiology.
• Interest in Cardiac MRI (CMR) and ability to perform imaging independently.
• Ability to manage cardiology on-calls and ward cover.
• Desirable: Higher Degree and Imaging (CMR) Fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Perform first class imaging (CMR) for elective outpatients and urgent inpatients.
• Provide on-call cardiology ward cover and general cardiology duties.
• Cover clinics (general and specialty) and participate in ward rounds.
• Provide flexible imaging cover across MMUH, Sandwell General Hospital and Birmingham City Hospital.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain waiting times and develop pathways.
