Job summary

Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust invites applications for a Locum Consultant in Cardiology with a special interest in imaging (CMR) and heart failure. The appointee will cover Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) during on-call periods and attend outpatient clinics at City Hospital Birmingham and/or Sandwell General Hospital.

Applicants should be on GMC Specialist Register in Cardiology or within six months of obtaining CCT, with full training in general Cardiology and the ability

Qualifications

• CCT (or equivalent) in Cardiology and GMC Specialist Register in Cardiology or within six months of obtaining CCT.
• Ability to perform CMR independently and manage general cardiology.
• Experience with on-call duties is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-class imaging (CMR) for elective outpatients and urgent inpatients as required.
• Support the heart failure team and clinics.
• Provide on-call cover for Cardiology wards (1 in 10 with internal cover).
• Attend ward rounds, general cardiology and specialty clinics, and administration duties.
• Maintain outpatient work at MMUH and at other sites as required.
