Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust seeks a Locum Consultant in Cardiology (Imaging & Heart Failure) to cover MMUH in Smethwick. The appointee will provide imaging (CMR), participate in on-call duties, and contribute to outpatient clinics, ward rounds, and administrative duties across MMUH and partner sites.

Qualifications

• Entry on the Specialist Register in Cardiology (or be within six months of obtaining it)
• Ability to work independently with cardiac imaging (CMR) and general cardiology duties
• Interest in imaging and heart failure to support a modern Cardiology service

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality cardiac imaging (CMR) for elective outpatients and select inpatients
• Provide on-call support for Cardiology wards (1 in 10 rota) and participate in clinic activities
• Cover general cardiology clinics, ward rounds, and related admin duties with imaging-led responsibilities
• Support the Heart Failure service and contribute to multi-site service delivery including MMUH and other Trust sites
