Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Cramlington is recruiting for a nurse to join the Cardiac Catheter Lab, caring for patients from referral through discharge. The role covers assisting with angiography, stress echo and trans-oesophageal echo, and may involve cross-site work.

You will work with Ward 10 and CCU teams, receiving bespoke training to develop core cardiology skills and contribute to service development across NSECH and partner sites.

Qualifications

• Nursing registration and licensure.
• Experience in cardiac catheter laboratory settings preferred.
• Ability to assist with cardiac diagnostic investigations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients for preassessment prior to their procedure.
• Prepare patients for their procedure on the day, cannulation and safety checks.
• Administer IV drugs prior to and during procedures.
• Monitor patients during procedures and respond to changes in condition.
• Provide post-procedure recovery, discharge advice and follow-up.
• Support learning and development within the Cardiac Catheter Lab and cardiology teams.
