Job summary

NHS Professionals Limited is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Radiographer for Watford General Hospital. You will provide a high‑quality radiographic service to Cardiology and support Cath Lab operations, working with the team to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

You will supervise junior staff, contribute to service development, and uphold clinical governance while maintaining equipment and CPD requirements in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• DCR(R) or BSc Radiography with HCPC registration is required.
• Experience in cardiac catheter labs, MRI and cross‑sectional imaging.
• Knowledge of cardiac procedures: angiography, PCI, EP studies and ablations.
• Experience operating Siemens Artis Q X-ray equipment and using CRIS/Medcon PACS.
• Know‑how of IR(ME)R, IRR, ALARA and updated Basic Life Support training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient welfare, dignity and privacy throughout attendance.
• Undertake cardiac catheterisation procedures per protocols and maintain records.
• Routine monitoring of Cath Lab equipment; identify faults and maintain stock.
• Participate in Radiology Clinical Governance and clinical audits.
• Plan staff rotas, monitor staffing and resource use; ensure inductions and development plans.
• Maintain CPD records and stay updated with radiology advances.
