University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Radiographer to join the Heart Centre in Stoke-on-Trent. The post supports a busy cardiology and cardiothoracic service, with both full-time and part-time hours considered to help maintain service delivery and development.
Candidates will hold a Degree or Diploma in Radiography; cath lab experience is desirable but not essential. You will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering diagnostic and interventional procedures,
An opportunity has become available, for a Band 6 Radiographer. There has never been a more exciting time to join our Team. Full time and Part time hours of working will be considered. The Heart Centre at UHNM provides tertiary cardiology and cardiothoracic surgical services for over 2 million people across Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire and South Cheshire, as well as secondary care cardiology for the local population. Cardiology and Cardiothoric Surgical provision within UHNM has recently undergone substantial expansion and you will be joining a strong, motivated team. The successful applicant will join the established and prominent consultant, nursing and technical team, and will have every opportunity to participate in continuing development and success of the service, The department currently has four brand new state of the art cardiac catheter labs (3 single plane and one Bi-plane).
In our coronary theatres we perform diagnostic coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention, a TAVI programme and a busy structural list including percutaneous closure of atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovale, percutaneous aortic valve implantation and Mitral clipping.
We also carry out diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology procedures, permanent pacemaker and implantable defibrillator implantation are all performed.
Other procedures conducted include alcoholic septal reduction for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, chronic total occlusions and biopsies., We are the specialist centre for major trauma for the North Midlands and North Wales. We have put together a wide range of development packages aimed at ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
