Job summary

BP plc invites applications for an experienced Carbonate Reservoir Sedimentologist within the SedStrat Specialist Team. The role requires carbonate sedimentology expertise and strong project leadership to deliver sedimentological and reservoir characterization studies globally across bp assets.

You will integrate diverse data sets, supervise studies, and mentor teams while developing advanced carbonate geology capabilities and contributing to industry-wide knowledge, including JIPs and external

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of carbonate sedimentary rocks across multiple depositional settings (platform, ramp, reefal, slope).
• Expertise in carbonate facies analysis, depositional architecture, diagenesis, and reservoir quality evolution.
• Ability to scope and coordinate description and characterization projects, including external contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead sedimentological and reservoir studies within the SedStrat team across bp assets.
• Integrate static and dynamic data with engineers and subsurface disciplines to identify value opportunities.
• Mentor and coach teams, develop bp courses on carbonate geology, and support JIPs/consortia.
