Job summary

bp is hiring a Carbonate Reservoir Geologist within the Sedimentology & Stratigraphy (SedStrat) Specialist Team. The role centers on carbonate depositional systems, reservoir architecture and integrating knowledge into bp’s Exploration and Reservoir Development portfolio.

You will lead sedimentological studies, supervise and deliver reservoir characterization across bp, integrate data with engineers, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of carbonate sedimentary rocks across depositional settings.
• Ability to scope and co-ordinate reservoir description projects.
• Experience in carbonate reservoir management/production.
• Strong written and verbal communication for senior management.
• Experience leading field trips and core workshops.

Responsibilities

• Lead carbonate reservoir SME within SedStrat team.
• Deliver sedimentological and reservoir characterization studies globally.
• Integrate diverse subsurface data with engineers to identify value opportunities.
• Coach and mentor carbonate geology expertise across bp.
• Publish high-quality technical work and contribute to conferences.
