Job summary

Kirklees College is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Capital Projects to lead a portfolio of refurbishment and new-build schemes across its estate. You will work closely with the Head of Capital Projects and key stakeholders to deliver projects that enhance the learner environment and value for money.

The role requires robust planning, budgeting and risk management skills, with a focus on minimizing disruption to teaching and learning and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the

Qualifications

• Experience delivering capital projects, refurbishments or construction programmes.
• Strong project planning, budgeting and risk management skills.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of construction legislation, CDM and Health & Safety requirements.
• PRINCE2, APM PMQ, MSP or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable project management experience.
• Experience within Further or Higher Education or public sector would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects and refurbishment schemes from inception to completion.
• Coordinate programmes, budgets, risks and project reporting.
• Manage contractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Monitor costs, programme performance and project risks.
• Ensure compliance with CDM, Building Regulations and relevant governance requirements.
• Work closely with stakeholders to minimise disruption to teaching and learning.
• Support project handover, commissioning and snagging.
