Sandwell Council’s Finance Division seeks a detailed-oriented and experienced Assistant Finance Business Partner (Capital) to join its team on a full-time, permanent basis, based from its Oldbury office. The role operates on a hybrid model with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

You will help manage capital budgets, forecast expenditure, provide financial advice, and support investment decisions across major capital programmes.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA or aspiring to study towards a professional accountancy qualification.
• Experience in capital finance, project accounting or financial analysis.
• Strong analytical skills to assess financial data and support investment decisions.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Ability to undertake financial modelling and present findings clearly.
• Strong Excel and financial systems capability.

Responsabilités

• Support the financial management of the Council's Capital Programme.
• Assist with the preparation, monitoring and forecasting of capital budgets.
• Track programme expenditure and funding with project managers and service leads.
• Undertake financial analysis, modelling and option appraisals for investments.
• Produce financial reports and forecasts to support decision-making and governance.
• Provide financial advice and support to managers and budget holders.
• Ensure capital expenditure and funding comply with regulations and procedures.
• Assist with development and enhancement of financial systems and MIS.
