Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Business Accountant (Capital / Property & Infrastructure) Band 6 to provide financial support, analysis and advice to budget holders and managers, focusing on capital investment and the financial management of Property & Infrastructure services.

You will work within the Financial Management Team to support capital planning, reporting and asset management, collaborating with operational managers, clinicians and project teams to enable informed decision-making and

Qualifications

• HND in Accounting or equivalent required.
• Part-qualified CCAB (e.g., ICAEW/ICAS/ CIPFA) or CIMA considered.
• Experience in capital and/or management accounting in a large complex organisation.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with ability to explain financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial support, analysis and advice to capital investment project teams and budget holders.
• Support capital planning, reporting and asset management alongside revenue financial management.
• Produce capital monitoring information and contribute to reporting to Scottish Government, Board and committees.
• Support depreciation estimates and capital expenditure and fixed asset elements of statutory accounts.
• Manage capital assets and capital cash flow within Standing Financial Instructions.
