Job summary

Allen Lane is supporting an NHS Acute Hospital in London with a major capital investment programme. We are seeking a Capital & Financial Accountant to lead capital accounting, fixed assets, leases and VAT, linked to robust financial reporting and governance.

The role requires a qualified accountant with NHS/public sector experience, capable of presenting complex data to senior stakeholders and driving continuous improvement across the finance team.

Qualifications

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Capital & Financial Accountant to join a leading NHS Acute Hospital during a significant period of investment and development.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and senior finance team, you will play a key role in managing capital accounting, fixed assets, lease accounting, VAT matters and financial reporting for a large-scale capital programme. You will also support the production of statutory accounts, work closely with auditors and provide financial expertise on major investment projects and business cases.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, or equivalent. with strong financial accounting and capital accounting experience, ideally gained within the NHS or wider public sector. You will be confident explaining complex financial information to senior stakeholders and have a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
