Job summary

Amazon UK Services Ltd. in London is seeking a Capacity Planning Manager to lead data-driven change across Last Mile & Middle Mile operations. You will own large-scale projects, develop and deploy strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance.

You will build and track operations metrics, communicate findings to leadership, and drive initiatives that improve reliability and reduce costs while advancing inclusion and diversity within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Math, Engineering, Science or Business.
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
• Experience in business analytics with proficiency in SQL, databases, and Excel in a business environment.
• Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams, including operations.

Capacity Planning is a high-powered creative team which is shaping the transportation planning and execution within the Last Mile & Middle Mile operations network. This team develops and applies innovative transportation management concepts to improve and enhance the transportation network and bring the best customer experience through reliability and cost efficiencies.

The role is based in London.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead process improvement initiatives with aim to improve operational performance.
• Establish and maintain the operations metrics and communicate them to leadership and other stakeholders through daily/weekly review meetings.
• Document the standard operating procedures and take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments and among the network.
• Work closely with stakeholders to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their areas.
• Independently own the designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining the large scale projects.

A day in the life

As Capacity Planning Manager, you’ll drive and manage the implementation of creative, data-driven change in Amazon, leading improvement initiatives. You’ll use strategic thinking to define and implement an efficient project plan.

Capacity Planning Managers have significant responsibilities, and you’ll deal with complex challenges with creativity, innovation, and leadership. Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Math, Engineering, Science or Business
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
• Experience in business analytics with demonstrated proficiency in quantitative analysis using SQL, databases, and Excel in a business environment
• Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams, including operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Excel and querying relational databases with SQL (or other query language), and working with large complex data sets to design models and scenarios
• Experience working with Excel and large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as Python, SQL or Tableau
