Job summary

UKRI is seeking a capable project professional to lead capability development in Swindon, delivering PD&I initiatives while line managing apprentices and career pathways. The role sits in a hybrid environment with 2 days in the office.

You will work with senior stakeholders to drive capability maturity, support a diverse workforce and deliver key projects that improve delivery and people development.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing others; coaching and mentoring.
• Proven ability to engage with and influencestakeholders.
• Experience delivering medium-scale projects in public-sector / research environments.
• PM qualifications such as Agile PM, PRINCE2, APM or equivalent embedded in projects.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a professional projects environment.
• Ability to build productive relationships and influence decisions.
• Ability to present a compelling vision and adapt to change.
• Ability to recognise, anticipate and manage conflict.

Responsibilities

• Lead the PD&I capability and talent development programme, including managing apprenticeships (10%).
• Develop professional pathways, learning interventions and succession planning (20%).
• Build strategic relationships with stakeholders, HR and external partners (15%).
• Deliver projects to time, cost, quality and benefit objectives (30%).
• Manage project governance, risks, resources and change (10%).
• Promote a culture of professional excellence, continuous improvement and high performance (15%).
