The opportunity and what makes Community Integrated Care a great place to work

Are you passionate about unlocking potential, building organisational capability and creating learning experiences that make a genuine difference?

We’re looking for a Capability Development Specialist who can turn business priorities into meaningful development opportunities, helping our people build the skills, confidence and capability they need to succeed today and in the future.

This is much more than delivering training. You’ll work across the organisation, partnering with leaders, managers, HR colleagues and subject matter experts to understand where our capability gaps are and design solutions that create measurable impact.

From leadership development and talent pathways to digital learning, capability frameworks and organisational transformation, you’ll have the opportunity to influence how we learn, grow and perform.

This is a full time permanent role with some national travel and attendance at our head office in Widnes required at least once a week so our ideal candidate will be based within an hours commute of our head office in Widnes.

What is The Deal for you?
  • Flexibility! You can work your full-time hours over 4 days and enjoy a long weekend or work over 5 days to accommodate your other commitments.
  • Benefits: Retail discounts, holiday discounts, cycle to work scheme and travel discounts through our benefits app.
  • Best Lives Possible: You'll be working for an award winning charity who is passionate about ensuring our colleagues and the people we support lead the best lives bolder
  • Development: We'll work with you to develop your career or to learn and experience new things. We're passionate about developing our people!
  • Dare to Learn: Access to our amazing online training platform where you can upskill taking a variety of courses and qualifications.
  • Support: From our Employee Assistance Programme (available 24/7), financial support options, and wellbeing fund you'll have the support available to lead an easier (financial) life.
Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

You’ll take a proactive, evidence-led approach to learning and capability development, identifying what our people and organisation need and translating that into engaging, practical solutions.

What you'll be doing:
  • Conduct capability, skills and learning needs analysis across different teams and functions.
  • Design, develop and deliver engaging learning and capability development programmes.
  • Create capability frameworks, career pathways and development resources that support current and future workforce needs.
  • Facilitate workshops, development sessions and other learning interventions for a variety of audiences.
  • Partner with managers and leaders to identify development priorities and recommend effective solutions.
  • Support leadership development, talent management and succession planning activities.
  • Play an active role in transformation and organisational change, ensuring people have the capabilities they need to adopt new technologies, processes and ways of working.
  • Use data, feedback and performance measures to evaluate learning effectiveness and demonstrate impact.
  • Support and optimise learning management systems and digital learning platforms.
  • Manage relationships with external learning providers, consultants and professional bodies.
  • Monitor learning trends, emerging technologies and best practice, bringing fresh ideas and innovation into the organisation.
  • Help ensure mandatory, statutory and regulatory learning requirements are effectively monitored and delivered.
  • Continuously improve our learning and capability processes, systems and approaches.
About you:

Above all, we’re looking for someone who genuinely believes in the power of learning and development to improve both individual performance and organisational success.

What we’re looking for:
  • Proven ability to design, deliver and evaluate learning and capability interventions.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to build relationships across different levels of an organisation.
  • The ability to influence, challenge and generate engagement without relying on direct authority.
  • An analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and turn insight into practical recommendations.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and programmes.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
  • The adaptability and resilience to thrive in an organisation experiencing change and transformation.

Experience supporting organisational transformation, culture change or organisational development programmes would be particularly valuable, as would experience developing competency, behavioural or capability frameworks.

Knowledge of digital learning, e-learning development tools and learning technologies, or a qualification/accreditation in coaching, facilitation or project management, would also be an advantage.

Why this role?

This is an opportunity to do more than deliver learning programmes.

You’ll help shape how an organisation builds capability for the future, supporting people at every stage of their development while influencing wider priorities around leadership, talent, transformation and organisational effectiveness.

You’ll have the scope to introduce new ideas, challenge existing approaches and use data and technology to create learning solutions that are engaging, accessible and impactful.

If you love turning business challenges into opportunities for people to learn, develop and perform at their best, we’d love to hear from you.
