Position: Remote Contract Cantonese Interpreter

We are seeking interpreters with a sincere desire to use their language skills to help people and who are passionate about their work.

Contract Responsibilities:

1. Provides consecutive, first-person interpretation.
2. Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio Language Services and clients.
3. Adheres to all Propio Language Services policies and procedures related to confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
4. Continuously enhances vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge for various fields such as medical, legal, social services, etc.

Requirements:

• Submission of an updated Resume in English at the time of application.
• Completion of English Language Proficiency with a rating of “technical proficiency” (3 or higher on the ILR scale).
• Successful completion of a Mock Oral Interpretation session with passing scores based on 24 quality standards.
• Completion of Propio's online Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology Assessment with a passing score.
• Full Background Check and Security Screening.
• Signed commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of interpreting experience.
