Job summary

Farmfoods Ltd in Warrington is hiring a Canteen Assistant to prepare hot and cold food at our Appleton distribution centre. The role is permanent, full-time, with a fixed pattern of 4 days per week and a guaranteed 30 hours weekly, with overtime regularly available.

Shifts include day shifts from 06:00 to 14:00. Pay ranges £13.69–£14.85 per hour depending on shift timings. Benefits include competitive salary, 6 weeks annual leave (pro-rata), staff discount and life assurance.

Qualifications

• Food hygiene knowledge is desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.

Job description

We are looking to recruit Canteen Assistants who will be responsible for preparing hot & cold food at our distribution centrein Appleton, Warrington.

We offer a permanent, Full Time position, working4 out of 7 dayseach week.You will be guaranteed30hours per week.If you’re looking to earn a bit more then overtime is regularly available.

Shift patterns available:

- Day shift: 06:00 to 14:00

Pay, working hours & benefits:

The pay will range between£13.69and £14.85 per hourdependant on the timings of your shift. This can be discussed with the hiring manager.

Duties:

• Food preparation tasks;
• Cooking and counter serving of meals;
• Receiving and moving of deliveries to kitchen storage;
• Replenishment of fridges
• Cleaning of kitchen utensils, appliances and surfaces.

About You:

This is a busy canteen, so the ability to work under pressure without supervision is essential.Candidates should also be able to communicate effectively and posses general numeracy and literacy skills.

Food hygiene is very important, so a basic food hygiene qualification would be desirable as well as an understanding of workplace health and safety.
