Job summary

Farmfoods is seeking a Canteen Assistant for our Avonmouth distribution centre in Bristol. You will prepare hot and cold meals and support kitchen operations in a busy canteen environment.

Work 30 hours over 4 days, Thursday to Sunday, 08:00 to 16:00, with potential overtime during annual leave. The role offers a competitive hourly pay range and benefits such as paid annual leave, staff discount and life assurance.

Job description

We are looking to recruit a Canteen Assistant who will be responsible for preparing hot & cold food at our distribution centre in Avonmouth, Bristol.

Pay, working hours & benefits

We are looking for someone to join us working 30 hours over 4 days. We are looking for someone flexible with working hours as we have a range of timings that we are looking to cover. The days that you will be working are Thursday to Sunday. We may have overtime availalbe to cover annual leave.

We are looking for the successful candidate to be available to work between 08:00 to 16:00.

The pay will be between £15.07 per hour and £17.59 per hour.

Duties

• Food preparation tasks;
• Cooking and counter serving of meals;
• Receiving and moving of deliveries to kitchen storage;
• Replenishment of fridges
• Cleaning of kitchen utensils, appliances and surfaces.

About You

This is a busy canteen, so the ability to work under pressure without supervision is essential. Candidates should also be able to communicate effectively and posses general numeracy and literacy skills.

Food hygiene is very important, so we would need the successful candidate to have a level 2 food hygiene certificate.
