Job summary

ABP Bridge of Allan, part of ABP Food Group, is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic Canteen Assistant to join our team in a busy canteen environment. This is a full-time role with Monday to Friday shifts, offering opportunities to deliver high-quality food and service while maintaining excellent hygiene standards.

The role involves serving food and beverages, supporting daily operations and events, and upholding stringent cleanliness and safety practices in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or hospitality is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Good organisational and time management abilities.
• Understanding of food hygiene standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and beverages to employees.
• Maintain high cleanliness in canteen and kitchen areas.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with stock control and replenishment of supplies.
• Wash dishes and ensure utensils/equipment are cleaned and stored properly.
• Follow food safety and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Support the Canteen Team with daily operations and events.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, takes pride in providing excellent customer service, and is passionate about maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness. This role is a full time role working Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving food and beverages to employees.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the canteen and kitchen areas.
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Assisting with stock control and replenishment of supplies.
• Washing dishes and ensuring all utensils and equipment are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Supporting the Canteen Team with daily operations and special events where required.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service, or a similar role is desirable but not essential.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Understanding of food hygiene standards would be an advantage.
