Cancer Clinical Trials – Ad Specialist Pharmacist

Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Pharmacist to join our esteemed Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team at UHNM. This role involves managing a broad portfolio of cancer clinical trials across oncology and haematology, supporting UHNM's ambitious 5-year Research and Innovation strategy.

Location

Work base at Cancer Centre Pharmacy, Royal Stoke University Hospital, with cross-site work at County Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage the pharmaceutical aspects of cancer clinical trials within UHNM.
  2. Collaborate with Research and Innovation teams, multidisciplinary teams, trial sponsors, and pharmacy to ensure safe and efficient trial delivery.
  3. Coordinate the delivery of cancer clinical trials, ensuring compliance with UK Clinical Trials Regulations, GCP, and departmental procedures.
  4. Manage the cancer clinical trials team and ensure staff are trained appropriately.
  5. Work with non-cancer clinical trials teams to standardize processes.
  6. Provide clinical pharmacy services across UHNM Cancer Centre clinics and wards.
  7. Integrate trial-related information into electronic prescribing and medicines administration systems.
  8. Support management of schemes like Compassionate Use, Early Access Medicines Schemes, and specialist medicines in cancer services.
Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have prior experience in cancer pharmacy, with an interest in clinical trials and research. Opportunities for further training, including non-medical prescribing, are available.
