Job summary

The Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester is seeking Security and Welfare Officers to join the Security and Welfare team. This permanent, full-time role is 35 hours per week with a 4 on 4 off rota that includes weekends and bank holidays.

You will patrol RAU campuses, respond to welfare incidents, manage reception duties, and help maintain safety standards across the estate. A GCSE or equivalent is required, with security or customer service experience desirable; a valid driving licence

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent education required.
• Security or customer service experience desirable.
• Strong communication and customer care skills.
• Basic computer literacy and MS Office proficiency.
• Valid driving licence or access to transport.
• SIA licence (training can be provided).

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols, promptly addressing security and safety issues.
• Provide first point of contact support during out-of-hours, prioritising welfare incidents.
• Monitor and maintain health, safety, and maintenance standards.
• Supervise access to residences, ensuring compliance with procedures.
• Respond efficiently to fire alarms and coordinate with emergency services.
• Produce coherent and factual nightly reports and write up witness statements.
• Deliver exceptional reception service, handling calls, visitor management, and administrative tasks.
