Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard campus facilities, perform patrols, monitor access, and report maintenance and safety issues. The role supports KU Police Department in non-law enforcement capacities during emergencies and events.

It requires extended walking and stair climbing, with a 1% pay raise after probation and opportunities for advancement within KU Operations. Assigned to day or night shifts, weekends and holidays, the position offers generous benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• {1} Preferred: experience in a post-assigned security position.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned buildings and ensure doors/windows/gates are secured.
• Respond to alarms and incidents; assist in emergencies.
• Maintain logs and report security activities.
