Job summary

Lancaster University is seeking a Grounds Person in the Facilities - Service Delivery team at Bailrigg, Lancaster. You will maintain diverse green spaces, sports pitches and landscaped areas across the campus, ensuring safety, aesthetics and accessibility for students, staff and visitors.

The role requires hands-on grounds maintenance experience, a full UK driving licence and a reliable, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, or a similar role.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of grounds maintenance and horticultural tasks across the campus.
• Maintain sports pitches and outdoor recreational facilities.
• Operate grounds maintenance machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
• Support litter management, campus presentation, and seasonal maintenance activities.
• Participate in winter gritting and snow clearance operations.
