Job summary

UWE Bristol is seeking a hands-on Grounds Operative to join our Grounds Team at the Frenchay campus. You will help care for lawns, planting beds, trees, hedges and green spaces to keep our campus safe, attractive and welcoming for staff, students and visitors.

This full-time, fixed-term role (two years) involves mowing, strimming, pruning and operating a range of horticultural machinery, with occasional overtime for events and weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence is required.
• RHS Level 2 in Horticulture or equivalent qualifications or significant hands-on experience.
• Experience using horticultural machinery such as ride-on mowers, tractors and hedge trimmers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, planting areas, trees, hedges and other green spaces across campus.
• Operate grounds machinery safely and efficiently.
• Support sustainability and biodiversity projects on campus.
• Cover open days or events with overtime where needed.
