Job summary

Gedu is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative for Greenford Campus (On-site) in London. The role covers grounds upkeep, general building maintenance, and safety compliance to ensure outdoor and indoor areas are safe and aesthetically pleasing.

The position includes seasonal plant management, tool maintenance, and assisting with minor capital works. Benefits include pension, holidays, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds and general maintenance within commercial or institutional settings.
• Practical knowledge of gardening techniques and building maintenance tasks.
• Ability to safely use and maintain a range of gardening tools and equipment.
• Familiarity with COSHH requirements and safe handling of chemicals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Grounds maintenance: plant, prune, mow, and manage green spaces and car parks.
• General building maintenance: repairs, decorating, plumbing and electrical basics.
• Cleaning and upkeep of external areas and snow removal as needed.
• Equipment maintenance and safety checks on gardening tools and machinery.
• Health and safety checks and risk assessments, plus record-keeping.
