Job summary

Luminate Education Group in Leeds is seeking a Facilities Assistant to provide a safe and welcoming service for students, staff and visitors on campus. Based at Mabgate Campus, you will work with the Facilities Supervisor to maintain the campus and ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies.

The role involves setting up rooms, assisting with weekly checks, securing premises, supporting on-site contractors, and helping with emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• English and Maths GCSE or equivalent are essential.
• First Aid at Work course with the college and mandatory online training.
• Basic maintenance knowledge.
• Health and Safety awareness.
• Two satisfactory references are required.

Responsibilities

• Setting up rooms, moving furniture for teaching, events and exam requests.
• Assisting the Facilities Supervisor with weekly compliance checks.
• Unlocking and locking the premises including setting the intruder alarm.
• Support with emergency evacuations and Fire Alarm activations.
• Assist on-site contractors and visitors, ensuring College guidelines are followed.
• Refilling photocopiers and distributing internal and external mail.
• Help ensure safety and security of pupils, staff, visitors, property and facilities.
