Job summary

University of Gloucestershire is seeking a Building Maintenance Operative to join the Estates team. The role will operate across Cheltenham and Gloucester campuses, delivering planned and reactive maintenance to keep the estate safe and compliant.

You will perform repairs on building fabric and services, supervise external contractors, support preventative maintenance, and work with Estates colleagues. A City & Guilds/NQV qualification and a UK driving licence are required; benefits include

Qualifications

• Relevant City & Guilds or NVQ qualification.
• Experience in building, mechanical or electrical maintenance environments.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Undertake repairs and maintenance across building fabric and services.
• Supervise external contractors and support planned preventative maintenance.
• Work closely with Estates and Facilities Management teams.
• Provide out-of-hours response as part of the on-call rota.
