Job summary

Herefordshire Liberal Democrats are seeking a proactive Campaigns Organiser to help build the county operation and re-establishing the Lib Dems as the main challengers.

You will work with the local party Chair, Elections Officer, the campaign team, councillors and volunteers to plan and run canvassing, literature delivery and voter contact, coordinating delivery networks and ensuring data is collected and used effectively.

Qualifications

• Ability to commute to the Lib Dem office in Hereford.
• Strong organisation and self-management; work unsupervised and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level writing accuracy with a compelling style.
• Positive, practical and solutions-focused attitude.
• Resilience and ability to manage priorities under pressure.
• Ability to recruit, motivate, organise and retain volunteers.
• Good digital skills; willing to learn social media, websites and desktop-publishing tools.
• Interest in UK politics; sympathy with Liberal Democrats.
• Ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver campaigning activity across Herefordshire target seats, including canvassing, action days, voter contact and literature delivery.
• Lead, train and support volunteers, building confident teams to run campaigning activity independently.
• Grow and sustain the volunteer base by recruiting, welcoming and matching volunteers to tasks.
• Build organisational capacity in Target Wards, including recruiting deliverers and poster sites.
• Organising election material and coordinating delivery of campaign literature.
• Manage campaign data; ensure accurate data entry and use data to inform targeting.
• Carry out other duties as reasonably required to support campaigns and organisation.
