Job description

This is a role for someone who knows that great campaigns don’t just inform people, they move them. Someone who can see the bigger picture, move quickly when an opportunity emerges, bring people together around a clear strategy, and turn a good idea into something impossible to ignore.

You’ll work alongside our legal and campaigns teams to spot opportunities, shape bold campaign strategies and turn complex legal and political issues into compelling stories that people can understand, care about and act on.

From developing digital campaigns that mobilise thousands of people, to leading projects that put pressure on decision-makers, you’ll help transform our work in the courts into action. We are especially looking for people with experience campaigning in: fighting the far right, actions against the police and political campaigning.

Responsibilities
Core
  • Developing the scope and strategy for Good Law Project’s legal and other campaigns, managing their delivery in line with relevant project prioritisation.
  • Implementing digital tactics that mobilise the public, fundraise and make change.
  • Drafting sharp, high quality compelling copy and content across a range of channels, for different audiences that move people into urgent calls to action.
  • Facilitating effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Evaluating legal and other campaigns’ impact and performance with a view to continuously improving our systems, processes and impact.
General
  • Perform Weekend Press Duties: alongside other team members on the duty rota (once every 6-8 weeks).
  • Living Our Culture & Values: Role model and actively embed GLP’s core values and culture into your day-to-day practice.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure full adherence to all organisational policies, codes of conduct, data protection protocols, and legal requirements.
  • Flexibility & Agility: Maintain a flexible approach, carrying out associated campaign duties or emerging priorities as reasonably required to advance the workstream's goals.
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: Proactively promote and embed inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunity across all workplace interactions, partnerships, and campaign activities.
  • Information Security & Confidentiality: Safeguard and treat with strict confidentiality all sensitive, personal, or legal information relating to supporters, donors, partners, staff, and litigation.
Qualifications
  • Campaigning: Experience as a strategic campaigner, with a track record of implementing digital tactics that mobilise thousands, raise income, grow lists, and secure change. Experience writing excellent, persuasive copy for different audiences, making complex cases into compelling calls for action.
  • Working at speed: Experience working in a fast-paced, reactive environment, comfortable with quick decision-making and delivery.
  • Project management: Experience managing multi-faceted projects, ideally coordinating between different specialisms (e.g. legal, tech, and comms).
  • Political & economic awareness: A keen understanding of the political landscape, particularly focused on party politics, the rise of the far right and civil rights.
General Skills & Abilities
  • Professional Integrity & Collaboration: commitment to high standards of professional behaviour, working with honesty, integrity, and a genuinely collaborative approach.
  • Strong creative and critical analytical skills, and an ability to grasp quickly new concepts and areas of the law with an openness to learning new ideas.
  • Autonomy & Teamwork: Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage your own workload independently, while remaining an active, supportive team player.
  • Precision & Quality: Methodical and accurate in your work, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Adaptability & Drive: Flexible in approach with a proactive mindset, willing to pitch in across the team to support and tackle emerging priorities and meet shared goals.
  • Effective Communication: Clear, engaging written and verbal communication skills that connect with colleagues, community partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Prioritisation & Delivery: Strong time-management skills with a proven ability to balance competing demands and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Digital Literacy: Significant experience in core digital workplace tools, business applications, donor management and campaign technologies.
  • Experience working in politics.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Ethos & Values Alignment:Deep commitment to GLP’s mission, core values, and ethos, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and a collaborative spirit in all aspects of your work.
  • Agility & Team Spirit: Adaptable and resilient under changing priorities, with a proactive, hands‑on attitude and a willingness to pitch in to support colleagues and advance shared goals.
  • Anti-Discriminatory Practice: Passionate commitment to promoting equality, actively championing anti-racism, and embedding anti-discriminatory practice across all workplace activities and campaigns.
