Join a leading healthcare team as a mental health nurse/practitioner in Derby, working with children and young people. You will conduct neuro-developmental assessments, provide high-quality assessments and improve mental health through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. We are looking to recruit an experienced mental health nurse/practitioner, into the CAMHS Specialist Assessment team, working with children and young people up to the age of 18.
This team conducts all Neuro-developmental assessments for the CAMHS Service line using a range of recognised assessment tools. It would be preferential if the successful candidate is already trained in these tools, however training could be offered upon commencement if required.
The post is based in Derby City but referrals are received from across South Derbyshire. Assessments are conducted virtually and face to face dependant on individual need.
The Community Care Pathway works with children and young people with a range of mental health needs, including trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, neuro-developmental conditions and self harm.
Our CAMHS Specialist Assessment team offers a holistic Autism and/or ADHD assessment for children and young people with a comorbid mental health problem.
The post holder will be supported to develop knowledge in completing and interpreting ND assessment tools including ADIR, ADOS, DAWBA, Qb and recognised screening tools.
Through robust supervision and training opportunities, we will aim to develop your knowledge, skills and experience within a CYP IAPT Service.
The team is supported by a Team Lead and an established leadership structure.
It is Trust policy that for posts that are for a time limited period, applicants who are currently employed by an NHS organisation will only be appointed on a secondment basis and should have approval from their line manager this is possible before applying. Applicants who are not employed by an NHS organisation, will receive a fixed term contract.

You will receive clinical and managerial supervision.
We are looking for a suitably-experienced, qualified clinician, who will improve children and young peoples mental health, through providing highly specialist, clinical assessment within the CAMHS pathway.
In accordance with national and local priorities, clinical guidelines, the post holder will be responsive to the needs and views of local children, young people and their families.
As a Lead Nurse / Practitioner the post holder will work in partnership with the CAMHS leadership team, Medical Consultants and multi-disciplinary teams, to ensure the highest level of clinical practice in assessment, case management, care co-ordination and treatment.
They will be required to ensure that the best evidence-based care is given to children, young people and their families, within the resources available to the service.
There will be an emphasis upon working with complex-presenting difficulties and multi-agency networks.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
