Job summary

West London NHS Trust is seeking a committed Mental Health Nurse to join the Hounslow Mental Health Support Team (MHST). The role involves working in schools to improve emotional wellbeing and mental health outcomes for children and young people, delivering group interventions, and supporting whole school mental health initiatives.

You will assess, plan and implement evidence-based interventions, and collaborate with education staff, families and other professionals to promote resilient school

Qualifications

• NMC registration/licensure for practice with children and young people.
• Post-qualification training relevant to child and adolescent mental health.
• Evidence of accreditation in CAMH practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess and formulate care plans for children and young people with mental health needs.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions and group sessions.
• Facilitate school staff workshops and training for parents and carers.
• Contribute to Whole School Approach to Mental Health initiatives.
• Collaborate with schools, health and social care colleagues and service development activities.

Education

NMC registered nurse (RN3 / RNMH / RN4) or equivalent

First or higher degree in relevant subject

Accreditation/registration by a national body

Mentorship/teaching and assessing qualification

Accredited courses in child and adolescent mental health practice
